Throw An Egg: Where Your Egg Lands and How to Get It Home
After a throw in Throw An Egg you become the egg in a themed zone. Outrun the tsunami back to your plot, place the egg on a slot and wait for it to hatch.
The moment you throw an egg in Throw An Egg, the game flips: you become the egg, sitting wherever your throw landed in one of the map's themed zones. Which zone you reach depends on your throw power. From there, your entire job is to outrun a giant tsunami back to your plot — make it home and the egg can be placed down to hatch; get caught and it's gone.

Make your throw and see where you land
Walk to the throw zone and press the button to throw. Low throw power drops the egg a short distance from spawn, while stronger throws carry it into the farther themed zones like Forest, Mushroom, Candyland, the Ocean/Underwater, Volcano, and Space. The farther you throw, the longer your run home, so distant zones are only worth chasing once your speed can cover the trip back. Our guide to throwing farther covers how to build that power.
Outrun the tsunami to your plot
As soon as the throw ends, you travel with your egg while the tsunami chases you both home. The chase ends the moment you step back onto your plot. Reach it in time and the egg becomes a collected egg you can place down; let the tsunami catch you first and that egg is lost for good — there is no recovering it.
Upgrade your speed before every throw. Whether you beat the wave comes down to movement speed, which you upgrade with in-game money. It's an easy step to skip: one player forgot, threw a godly egg, and lost it entirely to the tsunami. After upgrading, the same long returns became easy wins. More on the chase itself in how to survive the tsunami.
Place the egg on a slot and wait for the hatch
Once you're home, place the recovered egg on a free slot at your plot. It then sits on a hatch timer that varies by egg: small, low-tier eggs can finish in seconds or a few minutes, while rarer ones can take 30 minutes, an hour, or even several hours (3-hour timers have been observed). When the timer ends, the animal hatches out and earns cash on your plot — see typical hatch times for more.
If your plot is full
A plot only holds so many eggs. When every slot is taken, the game blocks the placement with a message like "can't place it, egg is full." Free up space by hatching what's already down or buying a pen expansion with in-game money — then place the egg you carried home.
If you're brand new, the beginner guide covers the basics before you start chasing the far zones.
